Charizard was the star of the very first Unrivaled Tera Raid event of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet back in 2022 shortly after the games were released. And now, the iconic fire dragon will be back for a limited time.

The return of the Unrivaled Charizard Tera Raid event comes as part of the Pokémon Day celebration in 2024, following the debuts of Venusaur and Blastoise Tera Raids. Scarlet and Violet might’ve changed a lot since the last time we faced Unrivaled Charizard, with plenty of tougher Tera Raid events taking place and hundreds of Pokémon added through the DLC since then. But there shouldn’t be too much change (if any) to worry about during the raid’s rerun. Just like the first time around, this is a seven-star raid and Charizard will have the Mightiest Mark and Dragon Tera Type. This means now would be a great time to bring out Fairy-type Pokémon like Azumarill as fantastic counters against the fierce fire dragon.

If you missed the Charizard raids when they first appeared or you just want to challenge them again, here’s when you’ll have your next chance to face the Gen I Fire Starter in Scarlet and Violet.

Charizard made two separate appearances the first time the event popped up, but it’ll only be making one appearance for Pokémon Day like Venusaur and Blastoise. The Unrivaled Charizard Tera Raids will appear in Scarlet and Violet from Tuesday, March 12 at 7pm CT until Sunday, March 17 at 6:59pm CT. This event starts right after the Blastoise Tera Raids end, closing out the special Gen I Starter Tera Raids that had begun with Venusaur back on Pokémon Day 2024. For whatever reason, this event only lasts five days, unlike the Venusaur and Blastoise events that lasted exactly one week each. Keep that in mind so you don’t miss this second chance at catching Unrivaled Charizard if you haven’t done so already.

And even if you did already defeat and catch this exclusive Charizard, you may want to consider rechallenging the raids to farm the valuable rewards. If these Charizard raids are anything like the ones for Venusaur and Blastoise, they should drop a good amount of rare Herba Mystica for Shiny hunting. Just make sure you have a reliable counter and a solid game plan to defeat Charizard and farm the Herba Mystica.
