Bungie promised Season of the Seraph’s Exotic pulse rifle would bring “multiple catalysts,” and Revision Zero delivered. The Revision Zero Catalysts don’t really work like the catalysts you’d expect from regular Exotics, though—but that’s because Revision Zero is a craftable, highly customizable weapon.
Revision Zero has two possible perk choices: one is determined by the actual perk slot, and the other depends on which catalyst you have equipped. Additionally, unlocking each catalyst also upgrades Revision Zero’s intrinsic, Hunter’s Trace, which grants it valuable stat boosts. Catalysts also open up customization options, including barrels, perks, and stocks.
Even if you can’t use all Revision Zero catalysts at the same time, you’ll need to hunt down a few of them if you want to make the most out of the new Exotic pulse rifle. Here are all Revision Zero catalysts in Destiny 2, what they do, and how to get them.
All Revision Zero Catalysts in Destiny 2
- Frenzy Refit: adds Feeding Frenzy to Revision Zero. Unlocks the barrel column.
- Description: “Each rapid kill with this weapon progressively increases reload speed substantially for a short time.”
- Pressurized Refit: adds Under Pressure to Revision Zero. Unlocks the perk column.
- Description: “Improved stability and accuracy as the magazine gets lower.”
- Outlaw Refit: adds Outlaw to Revision Zero. Unlocks the stock column.
- Description: “Precision kills greatly decrease reload time.”
- Four-Timer Refit: adds Fourth Time’s The Charm to Revision Zero.
- Description: “Rapidly landing precision hits will return two rounds to the magazine.”
How to get all Revision Zero Catalysts in Destiny 2
Revision Zero’s catalysts will drop as part of the secondary quest line called “Should You Choose to Accept It.” There are four missions—one for each catalyst—and they’ll become available as Season of the Seraph progresses.
The Should You Choose to Accept it quests have similar methods, missions, and requirements. The first mission sent players back to the Archimedes Annex (from Operation: Archimedes), asked them to take down targets on Europa, deliver a cipher to a cache in the Perdition Lost Sector, and then head inside Operation: Seraph’s Shield on Legend difficulty. The rest of the missions follow the same formula, sending players to the Moon, the EDZ, and the Cosmodrome.
To unlock each Revision Zero Catalyst, players must find a Dead Exo (similar to the ones in Europa) aboard the Seraph Station, though they are only available in the Legend version of Operation: Seraph’s Shield. They are marked on your map, but it’s easy to find them if you know where to look. Here is when each of the catalysts unlocks.

- Frenzy Refit: Drops at the end of the Should You Choose to Accept It, Part I quest. The Dead Exo is located in the microwave room.
- Available after completing step 32 of More than a Weapon (equivalent to week four).
- Pressurized Refit: Drops at the end of the Should You Choose to Accept It, Part II quest. The Dead Exo is located in a vent after getting the Operator buff.
- Available after completing step 39 of More than a Weapon (equivalent to week five).
- Outlaw Refit: Drops at the end of the Should You Choose to Accept It, Part III quest. The Dead Exo is located in the first boss room.
- Available after completing step 46 of More than a Weapon (equivalent to week six).
- Four-Timer Refit: Drops at the end of the Should You Choose to Accept It, Part IV quest. The Dead Exo is located in a hallway as you escape the House Salvation Ketch.
- Available after completing step 53 of More than a Weapon (equivalent to week seven).
Each of the Revision Zero Catalysts costs 300 Resonant Elements to apply and, unlike the rest of the perks and parts, doesn’t seem to have a level requirement. This means you can get your Revision Zero fresh out of the Enclave with a handy selection of perks after you’ve unlocked the Catalysts.
In addition to each Revision Zero Catalyst, players can also earn upgrades to Revision Zero’s intrinsic trait, Hunter’s Trace. Each improved intrinsic gives the weapon a base boost to attributes and also unlocks one type of modification, allowing players to change barrels, perks, and stocks. These parts have level requirements, however.
