With the win, AimbotCalvin and KingRichard became the seventh different duo to claim the Friday Fortnite championship. Their title run included wins over NRG Esports’ Svennoss, YouTuber Lucas “KYR SP33DY” Watson, and FaZe Clan player Thang “SpaceLyon” Phan.

The defending winners, FaZe Clan’s Turner “Tfue” Tenney and Dennis “Cloak” Lepore, were eliminated with a third-place finish. Their strong run in the tournament was upended in the winners bracket semifinals and they were eventually bounced in the losers bracket finals, losing both times to Kenith and Parallax.

While Kenith and Parallax, who both play for 100 Thieves’ competitive team, were able to take down FaZe two separate times, they were unable to overcome AimbotCalvin and KingRichard. In both of their meetings during the event, 100T failed to grab a victory.

Despite not winning the championship, Kenith and Parallax earned $7,000 for their second-place finish. For the win, AimbotCalvin and KingRichard received $10,000, and the third-place team of Tfue and Cloak walked away with $3,000.

Each team will look to improve in next week’s tournament, but with the likely scenario of popular streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins returning, it’s going to be even tougher to place highly.
