Warrior is the latest class to get an unidentified artifact in Hearthstone’s next expansion.

The unidentified artifacts are cards with concealed effects. The effects are random within a set of possibilities, and the effect is only revealed once the card is drawn into your hand.

Unidentified Shield is a six mana spell that adds five armor as a base effect. It then gains one of four effects when it is drawn into your hand—gain an additional ten armor, deal five damage, equip a 5/2 weapon, or summon a 5/5 Golem.

Those are all pretty powerful effects. Obviously the drawback is that you might get the effect which is not relevant to your situation. It could be useless—but it’s about finding a way to make them work.

This is the third unidentified card. Priest got Unidentified Elixir, and Paladin is getting Unidentified Maul.

Kobolds and Catacombs comes out next Thursday, Dec. 7.
