Taraxippos is a Lightweight Frame Strand scout rifle that is basically Hung Jury with a different element. The 2025 version remained mainly the same when it comes to god rolls, but there are a few new additions for both PvE and PvP.

Here are our Taraxippos god rolls for PvE and PvP in Destiny 2.

What is the Taraxippos god roll in Destiny 2?

Taraxippos PvE god roll

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Magazine: Tactical Mag
  • Perk one: Fourth Time’s the Charm
  • Perk two: Hatchling or Tear
  • Masterwork: Range
  • Weapon Mod: Synergy or Ballistics

Taraxippos PvP god roll

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake
  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds
  • Perk one: Keep Away or Lone Wolf
  • Perk two: Precision Instrument
  • Masterwork: Range
  • Weapon Mod: Ballistics

The main purpose of this weapon in PvE is to take advantage of Strand perks. In the fourth column, there’s Hatchling to spawn Threadlings or Tear to sever targets. You can also go for Explosive Payload, but the Hung Jury SR4 from Onslaught can roll it too, alongside some other powerful perks.

Only Fourth Time’s the Charm in the third column gives ammo back on landing rapid precision hits to improve ammo economy. Enlightened Action might be a decent alternative for increased reload speed, but the base reload speed is already quite high. With high handling and reload speed, you can invest more in range, as Lightweight scout rifles naturally have a lower base range.

While Lightweight scout rifles aren’t hot in PvP compared to Rapid-fire scout rifles, like Fang of Ir Yût, Taraxippos still has some decent combinations to try. In the third column, you can choose between Lone Wolf for aim assist, Keep Away for range, or Zen Moment for reduced flinch. Considering Taraxippos has a base range of 30, Keep Away, in particular, is a strong option. In the fourth column, the best option is Precision Instrument for increased damage. You could go Kill Clip or Eye of the Storm, but those mainly depend on personal preference and playstyle.

Taraxippos is a Guardian Games weapon in Destiny 2, and you can only get it while the event is around. Complete activities, event card challenges, and Cards from Eva to earn Medallions. Dunk the Medallions in the Tower to get rewards and contribute to your class’s standings.

The best way to farm weapons in 2025 is in the Rushdown activity on Expert difficulty. The encounters aren’t difficult, and the mode has matchmaking. Moreover, you can get multiple drops, fully masterworked weapons with double perks, and even Ascendant Shards from this activity.
