Most notably for competitive players, Sledgehammer noted several gameplay changes that will be addressed in a patch next week.

“Next week, we’ll have a game update that contains many important changes including map exploit fixes, UI improvements, fixes to issues with Party, connectivity optimizations, and more,” the blog reads. “Listening to fans and looking at global match data, we adjusted the BAR (increased recoil), reduced the flinch-reduction in the Primed Basic Training, fixed the ‘snaking’ exploit while crouching and proning repeatedly, and fixed an important bug with the smoke grenade. We are currently play testing a reduced flinch over all weapon primaries, and will look to update once we verify the balance across all weapons remains.”

Flinch reduction has been a major topic of discussion in the competitive community, as well as the implementation of silent footsteps. Although quieter movement wasn’t discussed in this blog, many players will be happy to read that Sledgehammer plans to work on fixing flinch in-game.

Additionally, Sledgehammer will host another double XP weekend in honor of Thanksgiving in the United States. Double XP will be activated in multiplayer starting Wednesday, Nov. 22 at 1pm ET and will run until Monday, Nov. 27 at 1pm ET.

Sledgehammer also revealed its first seasonal event for WWII—Winter Siege. This event begins on Friday, Dec. 8 at 1pm ET and will be active until early January. And one of the most exciting features of this event will be a winter-themed version of Carentan, which is aptly named Winter Carentan.

There was a lot of quality information provided in Sledgehammer’s blog post, and now the community will just have to patiently wait for these game changes and events to be implemented in WWII.
