Legendary Korean organization CJ Entus released its entire League of Legends roster earlier today.
CJ Entus, through a post on the organization’s official Facebook page, announced that it would not be re-signing Park “Racoon” Sung-ho, Seo “Soul” Hyeon-seok, Park “Winged” Tae-jin, Kim “Candy” Seung-ju, Yoo “Avenger” Seon-woo, Kim “Veritas” Kyoung-min, and Kim “Pure” Jin-su. The team’s coaching staff are also being released.
But despite the disbanding of its entire roster, CJ Entus did not announce its departure from League of Legends. This lack of information has caused many to wonder if CJ Entus is looking to buy back its way into the LCK.
Longzhu Gaming, which has faced controversy over not paying players, is the organization Korean fans are hoping CJ Entus buys an LCK seed from if speculations reign true. If CJ Entus were to obtain Longzhu Gaming’s LCK seed and player contracts, the organization could see a return to glory.
CJ Entus was one of the first major organizations to field a team in OGN Champions with its acquisition of sister teams Azubu Blaze and Frost in 2013. CJ Entus remained a competitor in Korea’s premier league until the summer of 2016, when the organization was relegated to the secondary challenger league.
