With Epic Games taking a summer break in July, it’s been almost a month since the last time we had a Fortnite update. Back on June 27, we got the 25.11 content update that kicked off the Summer Escape in-game event. Finally, the devs are back at work, and we have a shiny new patch to sink our teeth into.

While fans have shown their disapproval of Chapter Four, season three, players will be hoping that this update will make a major change to the game and bring back some of the enjoyment that has been missing for many this season.

Fortnite x Futurama

After 10 years off our screens, the Planet Express crew is back with season eight of Futurama. The legendary cartoon developed by Simpsons creator Matt Groening is headed to the Fortnite island, thanks to a new crossover event.

Fry, Leela, and Bender all have skins in the new update, complete with their own pickaxes to help you complete the look while breaking items for Materials. Leela is carrying her violin, Fry is wielding the nutcracker he attempted to squash Zoidberg’s head with in season two, and unsurprisingly, Bender is carrying a bent piece of steel.

The skins will also have special unlockable variants based on their looks in “Universe 1,” the first parallel universe the gang visited after getting the Parallel Universe Box in season four. Leela has orange hair instead of purple, Fry has black hair, and Bender has a shiny gold finish rather than the metallic grey we’re used to.

There are also some cool backblings for players to rock, including tiny Ben Rodriguez and (all glory to) Hypnotoad.

Mammoth Pistol

Fortnite fans have two new weapons to wield thanks to the 25.20 patch, with the Mammoth Pistol joining the loot pool.

Available in all rarities bar Mythic, this gun can be found in chests, secured from drones, or discovered on the ground across the map.

A large-caliber, single-shot pistol, this weapon will definitely pack a punch, but you’ll need to be accurate with your shots to make sure you eliminate your opponent before they wipe you out.

Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun

If you’ve got “ants in your butt” and “needs to strut” on your enemies, then look no further than Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun.

A futuristic option for those who like to carry a pistol, Bender’s signature weapon spews a plasma beam at your enemies, but don’t worry: It was manufactured with love and hugs from MomCorp, so you know it won’t let you down when the going gets tough.

Kinetic Boomerang and Lever Action Shotgun unvaulted

After disappearing from the loot pool, the Kinetic Boomerang is returning from the vault so you can throw them at enemies once again.

The weapon was originally removed due to an issue causing players to lose control of their characters after getting rebooted if they had used the Boomerang during that match. Thankfully, it seems Epic has ironed out these issues and introduced it back to the island.

The Lever Action Shotgun is also back in this patch, a powerful choice for those who want to get up close and personal with their enemies.

The weapon was vaulted at the very start of chapter four, season one, and makes its return after seven months in the vault.

Fortnite’s 25.20 update is now live on all platforms, including PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and mobile.
