Baldur’s Gate 3 has tons of items for you to discover throughout your journey in the Dungeons & Dragons-inspired world. Silver Ingots will be a fairly common item to find in your inventory, especially early on. Despite the fact that you might find your bags brimming with this crafting item, it is not entirely clear what to do with those ingots.

What are Silver Ingots used for in Baldur’s Gate 3?
Silver Ingots in Baldur’s Gate 3 can be sold at most merchants for gold coins. Silver Ingots are typically found in chests along with corpses of fallen enemies. During the early portions of the game, I recommend selling off these items considering you might not have much gear worth upgrading.
Silver Ingots sell for 50 gold per ingot, making it well worth the effort of picking them up and taking them to a merchant. Bronze Ingots sell for slightly less, going for 20 gold, while Gold Ingots are the most valuable, sold for 100 gold.

Unlike many other RPGs, Silver Ingots serve no crafting purpose in Baldur’s Gate 3. Though you encounter ingots frequently, as well as other items that might appear useful for crafting purposes, there is no known way to craft items, weapons, potions, or other materials. If you find yourself over encumbered with these items, you can always offload some of your junk in the chest located at your camp.
Since there is no actual use for Silver Ingots, I have used plenty of ingots to fund some of my more expense purchases. I highly recommending selling these items early on in your playthrough, as having a bit of extra coin will go a long way in Baldur’s Gate 3.
