IEM Oakland’s PUBG online qualifier has decided the final 8 teams

Four teams each from NA and EU round out the 20 participating.

After two days of online qualifier action, the final eight teams have punched their tickets to California to participate in IEM Oakland’s PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Invitational. On the EU side, 319 total teams checked in to the event. The final four teams who qualified were Avangar, WhiteKids, aAa, and Team PogChamp. G2 Esports and Team Kinguin were two teams of note that failed to make it to the big stage in Oakland. For NA, 261 teams participated in this event with just four left standing when all of the matches were played. Those teams were Ghost Gaming, Ronin Esports, Miami Flamingos, and Corn Shuckers. Among the notable teams who failed to qualify were Team Envy and Rogue. Related: The final 3 PUBG teams invited to IEM Oakland have been revealed On the European side of the qualifier, 16 groups of 20 teams played matches in best-of-three formats. From then, the top five teams from each group moved on to the second round, where four groups remained. The top five teams from each of those groups made it to the finals—a best-of-five with the final 20 teams remaining. North America played the same format, but with less teams participating. TSM, Team Liquid, Noble, Luminosity, Alliance, Cloud9, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Gorilla Core, Penta, Evil Geniuses, Method, and Tempo Storm are the 12 teams who were invited to the event, which will take place Nov. 18 and 19. The 20 remaining teams will take each other on for their share of the $200,000 prize pool at IEM Oakland. It will be ESL’s second PUBG esports LAN of 2017, including the gamescom PUBG Invitational in August.
