Submachine guns are widely considered the most consistent and best primary weapons in Destiny 2, but finding one that caters to both PvE and PvP players is tough. Fear not, guardian: The all-in-one solution exists in the form of Unending Tempest.
Unending Tempest is found as a random drop from Crucible matches or by focusing engrams at Lord Shaxx. It’s worth chasing down a god roll for, especially if you enjoy a fast-paced run-and-gun style of play in PvP, or you’re on the lookout for a new primary option for your favorite Stasis build in PvE thanks to its many perk options.
Here’s the best god roll for the Unending Tempest in Destiny 2 for both PvE and PvP activities.
Unending Tempest god rolls in Destiny 2
PvE god roll
- Barrel: Hammer-Forged Rifling or Smallbore
- Magazine: Tactical Mag or Appended Mag
- Trait Column One: Demolitionist
- Trait Column Two: Adrenaline Junkie or Headstone
- Origin Trait: Nadir Focus
Unending Focus has a myriad of great rolls for PvE, but it’s hard to look past the Demolitionist and Headstone combination, especially for use with a Stasis build. Critical final blows spawning the extra Stasis crystal for added AoE damage and freeze will be key but more than doable with those kills granting grenade energy for a Glacier Grenade to create even more crystals—it makes for a satisfying gameplay loop.
Alternatively, the SMG works great with other subclasses thanks to the Demolitionist and Adrenaline Junkie combo. With a single grenade kill you’ll be dealing an extra 33 percent damage, and killing stuff faster means you’ll get your grenade back very quickly.
Alternate options include Subsistence in column one and Frenzy in column two, but Unending Tempest feels like it was designed with a grenade build in mind and is too hard for me to pass up.
PvP god roll
- Barrel: Corkscrew Rifling
- Magazine: Accurized Rounds
- Trait Column One: Dynamic Sway Reduction or Killing Wind
- Trait Column Two: Fragile Focus
- Origin Trait: Nadir Focus
As a Crucible weapon, it’s no surprise the Unending Tempest has great base stats for PvP, and a solid perk combination enhances the dueling factor of the weapon by a whole lot. The Nadir Focus origin trait comes in handy here with the added boost to accuracy and range while holding the trigger.
We’ve gone for ways to boost accuracy here with Dynamic Sway Reduction meaning you can keep that trigger held through a gunfight for laser-like precision. Killing Wind is a solid alternative here for the boost to mobility and range after a kill. Pair either perk with Fragile Focus for even more range and consistency while your shield is active.
Starting a head-to-head duel on full life almost always nets you the kill even at medium range, meaning you can even battle the likes of assault or scout rifles on some maps.
