Esports bookmaker Loot Bet is set to start its own professional esports leagues for both Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2 in the near future.
In these newly-established leagues, teams from across Europe and the CIS region will compete for a $250,000 prize pool. This all starts on Jan. 26 with the open qualifiers for season one of the CS:GO league.
Whoever wins the open qualifier will receive an invite to the closed qualifier, which takes place from Jan. 28 to Feb. 2. Whoever makes it to the closed qualifier will compete against a field of teams including Syman Gaming, Chaos Esports, and Nemiga Gaming to try and make it to the main event.
This first season of the planned five-season league has a main event featuring AVANGAR, Red Reserve, Windigo, and several other teams that will all be battling it out for $30,000.
The main event will be held over the course of a month, from Feb. 4 to March 4, with single-elimination matches in a round robin style bracket to whittle down the competition to the top four teams. From there, those four teams will compete in the double-elimination playoffs from March 5 to 8.
Loot.bet/CS league will broadcast its matches through the Russian tournament organizer UCC’s Twitch channel. There’s also a full schedule available in a Google Document.
The Dota 2 League is set to begin this spring. There will be four seasons, with a $25,000 prize pool for each season.
At the end of each season for both leagues, Loot Bet will give away prizes, such as gaming laptops and other hardware, through the Gleam platform and hidden quests. Clues for these quests will be hidden on the stream, as well as on the Loot Bet website and Discord.
