Fortnite began its first season in 2017, and there have been many more since, including the latest season, Chapter Six, season two. There have been plenty of unique Chapters and seasons, and always more on the horizon.

Epic Games has successfully built on and improved Fortnite throughout its 30 seasons, introducing new weapons, characters, cosmetics, consumables, exclusive events, and entirely new games. Because of this, the start of a new Fortnite season is always a treat for battle royale fans. When does Fortnite Chapter 6, season 2 end?

Fortnite Chapter Six, season two, will end on May 2, 2025. This date is listed as the end date of the current battle pass, and all seasons conclude as soon as their battle passes end.

How long do Fortnite seasons last?

Regular Fortnite seasons last around three months. Certain special seasons, like Chapter Two Remix and Chapter Five Fortnite OG, last for less time and have shorter battle passes to go with them. Other seasons, like Chapter Five, season one and Chapter Four, season two, last a bit longer. There’s always a chance for any season to go for longer or shorter than expected, but on average, you can expect most regular seasons to last about three full months.

What theme is the next Fortnite season?

The theme for the next season of Fortnite hasn’t been officially revealed, but there has been some speculation and possible hints that it might be Star Wars. Fortnite always does something special for May 4, like adding Darth Vader and E-11 Blaster Rifles to the island, but this year, players are wondering if the celebration might be taking it to the next level with a full-on season dedicated to the franchise.

One of the main pieces of evidence for this possibility is a chest you need to collect for the story quests this season. It looks just like the Imperial crates used in Star Wars. An alleged leaked “Staying Solo” quest pack is also believed to feature a new Han Solo skin. He’s not a character with many unique styles, and his main looks are already available in Fortnite, so it seems a bit suspicious to give him a new quest pack unless it’s for an entirely Star Wars-focused season.

For many Fortnite players, Chapter Two, Season Two, Chapter Four, OG, and Chapter Two, Season Four are all remembered by the community for the world, themes, and characters they introduced.

I remember the Marvel season the most during Chapter Two, but something about the first Chapter was magical. The community was at its peak; there was a lot of experimentation, and every season added something neat, like Season Six adding pets—and who remembers when events on the map happened for the first time? That was all magical and memorable. It doesn’t feel like Fortnite ever got back to that feeling until season four’s OG chapter, which brought a lot of folks back to the game for the first time.
