Not many Destiny 2 weapons can go from zero to hero, but Warden’s Law seems to have achieved this tremendous feat. This once-terrible hand cannon is back and it’s gunning to become one of the most coveted new weapons in Destiny 2.
Warden’s Law was released to great success, ushering in the new Heavy Burst archetype for hand cannons that has already made a few disciples since its reissue. And while it’s hard to change greatness, The Final Shape added two excellent perks to this weapon’s pool, creating new opportunities for god rolls.

Warden’s Law continues to boast its suite of options, and since The Final Shape, it also brings Demolitionist and Adrenaline Junkie in tow. If you’re using Lucky Pants, Fourth Time’s the Charm and Vorpal Weapon can reign over the competition, but this hand cannon works tremendously well as a workhorse primary (if you can ditch your Khvostov 7G-0X, that is).
The first perk column on Warden’s Law was somewhat balanced after the weapon’s first reissue, but the addition of Demolitionist created a strong new contender. It’s hard to say no to free grenade energy, and with Prismatic, this weapon can also fill your Transcendence bar pretty quickly with Facet of Grace.
If Demolitionist doesn’t spark your fancy, Fourth Time’s the Charm synergizes perfectly with this hand cannon’s cadenced burst, and both Perpetual Motion and Enlightened Action are great options to make this weapon feel even deadlier in your hands.
Warden’s Law isn’t lacking in the damage department by any means. Kill Clip and Frenzy are among the most famous damage-boosting perks in Destiny 2 for good reason, and Warden’s Law has access to both. Kill Clip works when you can kill enemies somewhat easily, but Frenzy is better for endgame activities where enemies take longer to die.
Adrenaline Junkie is the new kid on the block here, providing a damage buff on kills and an even bigger buff on grenade kills. Pair this with Demolitionist for maximum impact, especially in a Prismatic build.
Vorpal Weapon isn’t our cup of tea, but it works particularly well with Lucky Pants. We’re more biased toward Frenzy, though: its damage boost is smaller, but it applies to more targets.

For PvP, go for Perpetual Motion or Moving Target with Zen Moment for a well-rounded burst hand cannon. If you find you’re hitting your shots, Kill Clip for the damage boost post-reload after a kill means you’ll be able to chain multikills easily.
How to get Warden’s Law in Destiny 2
Warden’s Law is available from Nightfall activities when it’s on rotation. Each week brings a new weapon to the pool, so you need to get lucky and run Nightfalls whenever Warden’s Law is on tap. Higher difficulties grant bigger chances to obtain the featured weapon, and completing a Grandmaster with a Platinum score will guarantee an Adept version.
After you’ve obtained Warden’s Law (or any Nightfall weapon), you can focus it with Commander Zavala on the Tower. Adept weapons work differently: you can only focus Adept versions of a weapon when it’s featured as loot for that week, but the base version doesn’t have that limit.
