PC players have reported a cloud sync error with the new game. While Electronic Arts has implemented a fix for the cloud sync error with the client, some are still experiencing it. This isn’t necessarily an issue on Apex Legends’ end, but more so the Origin client used to access the game. Before taking a closer look at troubleshooting, try the standard turn-it-off-turn-it-on-again method. If the problem persists after restarting Origin, there’s still more you can do.

If cloud sync is disabled on the client, the issue shouldn’t persist. Cloud sync allows users to pick up where they left off in games across different computers. This is helpful if you are playing through a single-player game, but for most multiplayer games this feature is unneeded. There are multiple benefits to disabling cloud sync, as it generally will reduce lag, make loading times faster, and free up processing on your computer. To turn off cloud sync, you must follow these steps.

First, launch the Origin client and navigate to the ‘Origin’ tab in the menu at the top. The first option in the dropdown is ‘Application Settings.’ Click on this settings option and go to the ‘Installs & Saves’ tab at the top of the client. At the very top of the page, you can disable cloud storage. With this fix, you will most likely no longer encounter the cloud sync error with Apex Legends.
