The Ghost Poro and Zombie Ward runes, part of the Domination tree, are being buffed on the League of Legends PBE.
When taking Ghost Poro, stepping into brush will now replace your current trinket slot with a Ghost Poro. It can be placed down, giving vision for 300 seconds or until an enemy enters the bush. This is in contrast to the current live version, which lasts indefinitely and is instead channeled automatically upon entering a bush.
The rune is also getting a new passive effect. If the Poro is placed past the river in enemy territory, the user will gain between five to 20 adaptive stats, based on level. The removal of Sightstone and Tracker’s Knife in January and February, respectively, made vision much more difficult to come by for junglers, essentially killing off counterjungling. Without knowledge of the enemy’s whereabouts, counterjungling becomes much riskier, and the changes to Ghost Poro might make forays behind enemy lines more attractive. It might also be an interesting choice for lane bully top laners, who can simply sneak in to bushes behind Gromp or Krugs for free stats.
Zombie Ward will also give its users more damage, but in a strange way. After destroying an enemy ward, players taking the rune will gain 30 to 90 bonus magic damage, based on level, on their next attack or spell against an enemy champion. This just does not fit thematically with the rune and seems tacked on as an afterthought.
In addition, the Zombie Ward that sprouts after clearing an enemy ward will now last 120 seconds at all levels, instead of scaling up with level from 30 seconds to 120 seconds.
Overall, the changes to vision will help players feel better about their options when running the Domination path in their runes.
