In just over a week since its release, Apex Legends has taken the world by storm and we have seen NRG, 100 Thieves, and Fnatic all throw their hats in the ring. The world’s first Apex Legends tournament was a huge success even without custom matchmaking available in the game yet.

G2 Esports’ founder, Carlos “Ocelote” Rodríguez Santiago, took to Twitter to announce the organization’s entrance into Apex Legends.

As expected, G2 and Carlos are expecting nothing but the best. G2 has already built a world-class, competitive culture and will expect nothing different from its Apex Legends teams. G2 didn’t reveal what will be required from the aspiring applicants, but a drive to be number one in the world is a must.

Developer Respawn hasn’t announced its plans for Apex Legends esports yet. If the incredibly polished launch of the game and record breaking popularity is anything to go by, we will definitely see more teams getting ready for those inevitable announcements.
