When Blizzard Entertainment co-founder Mike Morhaime announced his resignation from the role as president in October, the company announced that he’d stay in a strategic advisory role. But according to an U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing, Morhaime will leave the company entirely in April.
Former World of Warcraft executive producer J. Allen Brack has succeeded Morhaime as Blizzard’s president.

“As previously disclosed, on Oct. 3, 2018, Michael Morhaime entered into an agreement with Activision Blizzard, Inc. pursuant to which he would provide strategic advice to the company in an advisory capacity,” the filing states. “Mr. Morhaime’s employment with the company as strategic advisor will conclude on April 7, 2019.”
Activision Blizzard has seen numerous role changes in the past few months, including three new leadership appointments announced this week. Call of Duty executive vice president Rob Kostich has been named Activison’s new president, while former chief financial officer and chief strategy officer Humam Sakhnini has been named King Digital’s president. CFO Dennis Durkin has been named president of Activision Blizzard’s emerging businesses, and will keep his primary role, too.
Activision Blizzard CFO Spencer Neumann was terminated from the company within the past month, with Blizzard’s CFO, Amrita Ahuja, also leaving the company. Former senior vice president Mike Sepso, a Major League Gaming co-founder, left Blizzard for the Overwatch League’s New York Excelsior in October.
