100 Thieves returns to Call of Duty, signs Kenny and Fero

100 Thieves has acquired former Team Kaliber players Kenny Williams and Maurice “Fero” Henriquez to officially return to Call of Duty esports.

Kenny and Fero both confirmed earlier today that they were no longer a part of Team Kaliber. Justin “KOSDFF” Chandler, Team Kaliber’s owner, revealed after the players’ departures that he had been negotiating the roster’s sale for the last several weeks.

While some didn’t think it would be this quick of a turnaround, 100 Thieves owner and former CoD pro player Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag has been a very vocal supporter of returning to the game that he became famous playing.

Nadeshot is arguably the most-recognized player in Call of Duty esports history. As a long-standing player on OpTic Gaming, Nadeshot captured several titles, including an X Games gold medal, while becoming a popular internet personality through YouTube and Twitch.

The OpTic captain left the team’s competitive roster and competing altogether in 2015. He later departed from the organization and created his own, 100 Thieves, in 2016.

With these two acquisitions, 100 Thieves has finally returned after more than two years away from the competitive Call of Duty scene. In Black Ops III, 100 Thieves featured an underperforming roster, which led to the Thieves’ departure from the esport. After serving mostly as a clothing line, Nadeshot’s organization reemerged late last year as one of the permanent partners in the NA LCS.

Aside from its League of Legends team, 100 Thieves has stayed out of other games for the most part until now. The organization signed a CS:GO lineup ahead of the ELEAGUE Major: Boston earlier in the year, but the team never even made it to the event after one player made a homophobic comment on Twitter while the rest struggled to secure visas.

And while this roster isn’t even complete yet, the acquisition of two young and exciting players like Kenny and Fero is certainly a great first step for 100 Thieves’ CoD team.
