Optic Gaming has had an unbelievable year so far on Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. They started it off by making it to the finals of MLG Columbus where they lost to Faze Red. After that, a series of tournament wins made them the highest ranked team in professional Call of Duty. The roster of Nadeshot, Crimsix, Scumpi, and Formal looked unstoppable for a while: they won UMG Orlando, the MLG Pro League Season 1 Playoffs, and the NA Regional Finals, but at the Call of Duty Championship they fell apart and took 7th place. That’s when Nadeshot decided to take a break and Karma took his spot. Since that change, Optic Gaming has cemented their spot as #1 in the game once more.

With four big-time slayers on the roster, they won the Electronic Sports World Cup in Paris, they won the Gfinity Spring Masters in London, and then they won UMG California, all within three weeks. Literally travelling all over the world and not having much time to spend at home, Optic Gaming did not lose composure and continued to play at their best, even with Enable as a substitute for the overseas events.

The latest event in California was never a problem for Optic. They only dropped 2 maps in pool play and then shut out nV and JusTus on their way to the final against Enigma 6, where they won 3-1 against the young amateur team. In the Grand Final, OG met Faze (with Enable) in a showdown between two of the most popular Call of Duty organizations in the world. Faze took the first BO5 series, winning 3-2 in map count, but Optic came back in the second series in full control by winning it 3-0.

On top of winning 3 events in a row, a member of Optic Gaming celebrated another milestone: Crimsix became the winningest player in Call of Duty history. To get there, Crimsix had to surpass his old teammate Aches in the standings. With 20 1st place finishes under his belt, Crimsix has more tournaments wins than non-wins!  He isn’t done yet, and with a good chunk of the Advanced Warfare season still ahead, Crimsix will likely further extend his position and make it near impossible for other players to catch up. Congratulations on your achievement Crimsix!
