With the right attachments in Modern Warfare 3’s Gunsmith, you can make a semi-auto rifle a beast, like in our best MCW 6.8 loadout.

The MCW 6.8 is easily among the best marksman rifles in Modern Warfare 3, outpacing other rifles in damage, accuracy, and mobility. While you can’t do anything to increase the fire rate, you can improve other relatively weak weapon stats to unlock the MCW 6.8’s real potential.

Here are our picks for the best MCW 6.8 loadout and class setup in MW3.

The MCW 6.8 is the semi-auto version of the MCW, one of the best assault rifles in MW3. This means it comes with many of the same attachments as the AR, but hits a lot harder and can be fired at longer distances for some quick kills.

Best MCW 6.8 attachments in MW3

  • Barrel: MCW Crown-30 Barrel
  • Optic: Slate Reflector
  • Underbarrel: Kimura RYN-03 Vertical Grip
  • Magazine: 30 Round Mag
  • Rear Grip: RB Claw-PSL Grip

I genuinely love this set of attachments for the MCW 6.8. Its base magazine is way too small at just 10 rounds, so start out by adding the 30 Round Mag so you can gun down multiple enemies without reloading. The RB Claw-PSL Grip and Kimura RYN-03 Vertical Grip will both add a tremendous amount of Gun Kick Control, allowing you to hit your shots with ease.

For the barrel, I also really like the MCW Crown-30 Barrel to further rein in the Gun Kick Control, but also add in big increases to Aiming Idle Away, Bullet Velocity and Range, and Firing Aim Stability to really lean into this gun’s role as a lethal marksman rifle to be used at range.

Best MCW 6.8 class setup in MW3

  • Vest: Infantry Vest
  • Handgun: Renetti
  • Tactical: Stun Grenade
  • Lethal: Claymore
  • Field Equipment: Trophy System
  • Gloves: Marksman Gloves
  • Boots: Stalker Boots
  • Gear: Mag Holster or Ghost T/V Camo

I prefer using the Infantry Vest for just about all of my classes, and the MCW 6.8 is no different. This allows one of each perk slot, and I like to use these for Marksman Gloves, Stalker Boots, and either Mag Holster or Ghost T/V Camo, depending on the game mode.

Equipment is less important with this build, but I like to throw down a Trophy System near my perch that I’ve set up near to pick off enemies from a distance on a variety of MW3’s maps in multiplayer. And throw down a Claymore to protect your back.
