G2 Esports has signed Anthony “Methodz” Zinni and Andres Lacefield to replace Richard “Ricky” Stacy and Brice Faccento on its Call of Duty team, the organization announced via a post on its website.
Methodz comes from FaZe Clan, where he played one event. In WWII, he competed for OpTic Gaming, Next Threat, Team Kaliber, and Rise Nation, the latter of which he won an open event with.
Lacefield similarly played only one event for his most-recent team, Pittsburgh Knights. Before signing with Knights, he competed for Ghost Gaming from June 2017 until October 2018.
This move had been rumored after Methodz and Lacefield were seen practicing with G2’s roster, while Ricky and Faccento practiced with other teams as well. And while neither move has been made official by the players or organization, it appears Ricky may play for Pittsburgh Knights and Faccento will sign with Evil Geniuses.

After placing top 16 at the CWL Las Vegas Open earlier in the month, many fans seemed to think G2 would make a change to its roster before the CWL Pro League qualifying event in January. The team finished last in Pool D, failing to win a single match in pool play. And despite beating The Imperial and Mazer Gaming in the championship bracket, they were quickly knocked out with a 3-0 sweep by 100 Thieves.
G2, which just entered Call of Duty esports in October, will need to place within the top 12 of the 28-team Pro League qualifier in January, or the organization won’t be participating in CoD’s premier league in 2019.
