Modern Warfare 3’s Season Five Reloaded update is set to add new content to the game one week prior to Call of Duty Next and nine days before the Black Ops 6 beta.

This update is understandably light on content with the focus shifting to BO6, but there’s still plenty for hardcore MW3 grinders to be excited about in this midseason content drop.

Here’s everything new and different hitting MW3 multiplayer in the Season Five Reloaded update.

Here are all of the changes and new additions to MW3 in the midseason update for season five.

Weapon changes

Every large update in CoD includes weapon changes, and Season Five Reloaded is no different. This update includes buffs for some interesting guns, including the BAS-B, FTAC Recon, MTZ-762, and Pulemyot 762, while the RPK’s JAK Cataclysm Kit got a hefty nerf. Akimbo pistols from MW2 also got a buff to make them more in line with MW3 akimbo pistols.

The Torque 35 bow and Spear melee weapon are here at midseason, unlockable through the previously Classified battle pass sector. It includes several new challenges to complete to unlock everything within.

A cel-shaded variant of Stash House called Ink House is the only new map coming in the update. At least Stash House is a fun map, but a new map would’ve been welcome, too.

New modes

Three new limited-time modes are coming in the update, set to be added to playlists throughout the next four weeks. Here’s everything Activision has said about the modes thus far.

Fishfection

“Avoid the hook in this slippery twist on Infected,” Activision said. “Equipped with only the Compound Bow and Spear as your weapons in Fishfection, where it’s your goal to prevent getting eliminated by a bloodthirsty school of Fish Operators composed of previously fallen players.

Paintball

Paintball, which is “played predominantly on small maps and in modes like Capture the Flag and Kill Confirmed, gives players increased movement abilities for the duration of the Mode and replaces all bullet impacts with paint splatters,” Activision said. “That means every weapon is a one-shot kill, so take cover behind a bunker of choice and get ready for some quick-action painting.”

Defuse or Destroy

“In this round-based objective mode, teams take turns attacking and defending bomb sites,” Activision said. “The twist? This mode’s rounds start with a bomb already planted in one of two possible locations, putting a literal ticking time bomb into play as teams alternate to defend and defuse.”

New limited-time events

Finally, season five will close out with two limited-time events, Wildlife Most Wanted (Sept. 4 to 12) and Emotional Overdrive (Sept. 12 to 18) before season six begins.
