Team Reciprocity has agreed to terms with the roster of Thomas “Tommey” Trewren, Bradley “Wuskin” Marshall, Sean “Seany” O’Connor, Zach “Zed” Denyer, and former Mindfreak player Denholm “Denz” Taylor, multiple sources have told Dot Esports.
Reciprocity has set an announcement for Oct. 1 that will confirm the addition of a new team, and it’s believed that the announcement will welcome the CoD lineup into the organization.
Tommey, who was released by Splyce in May following a top 20 placing at the CWL Seattle Open, surprisingly finished out the WWII season strong as a part of Team Vitality. Despite teaming up with relatively-inexperienced players, the CoD veteran was able to finish in the top 12 at the CWL Championship last month.
As three-fourths of UNILAD, Wuskin, Seany, and Zed were arguably the biggest overachievers in the world. After failing to crack the top 12 in the first five events, the European team was finally able to break out at CWL Anaheim in June, finishing fourth. They followed their Anaheim performance up with a top six showing in Stage Two of the CWL Pro League and a top 12 placing at the CWL Championship.
Denz, the lone Australian on the team, didn’t have as successful a year as his new European teammates. As a key piece for Mindfreak, Denz showed potential within the CWL Pro League, but he and the team still finished outside the top eight in the first five events. The Australians earned a top eight placing at CWL Anaheim in June, but a top 14 placing in the pro league and top 24 finish at the CWL Championship followed.
After the WWII season’s conclusion, Denz announced he would be exploring all of his options before the release of Black Ops 4. While he was reportedly offered a North American opportunity with Cloud9 in Infinite Warfare, sources told Dot Esports, Denz has joined an international team for the first time in his career.
Founded in December 2017 by former PGL founder and president Chad Larsson, Team Reciprocity has seemingly specialized in console shooter games, seen by its involvement in both Halo and Gears of War. Its current Halo roster includes veterans Eric “Snip3down” Wrona and Justin “Pistola” Deese, as well as the team’s coach, Tom “OGRE2” Ryan.
Team Reciprocity did not respond to Dot Esports’ request for comment by publication time.
Update Oct. 1 9:58am CT: Team Reciprocity president Chad Larsson has confirmed the signing via Twitter. He also confirmed the team would be moving into a team house in Las Vegas soon.
