A third APAC team will be in Atlanta for the Call of Duty World League tournament this weekend, as Tainted Minds will join Mindfreak and The Chiefs to represent their region.
News that Tainted Minds would be in Atlanta did not come out until the team had already touched down. Player Denholm “Denz” Taylor told Respawn Ninja that the chance to play in an MLG event was a “once in a lifetime opportunity.”
In the beginning of January, Tainted Minds made several big roster changes in hopes of improving their standing in the APAC Call of Duty scene. They dropped their old roster and picked up a completely new one, consisting of Hayden “Damage” Handakas, Denholm “Denz” Taylor, Rene “Zeuss” Corporaal, and Giancarlo “Nimble” Vagnini.
During Black Ops III, Nimble and Zeuss played for Team Orbit until the organization dropped the roster. In Infinite Warfare, they began playing with Damage, who had previously been a part of the Tainted Minds organization. The big addition to this Tainted Minds team was Denz, who had previously played with Mindfreak for about two years.
So far, the roster has won two 2K tournaments together and are head-to-head against Mindfreak for designation as the best team in the APAC region.
Tainted Minds, along with Mindfreak and The Chiefs, will brave the tough open bracket in Atlanta this weekend.
