Esports juggernaut Team SoloMid has announced that they are looking for a Call of Duty roster to represent them in 2016. If they succeed in signing a team, TSM would become the 5th internationally recognized organization to enter the competitive Call of Duty scene since the release of Black Ops 3. Others include Luminosity, Complexity, Counter Logic Gaming, and Splycegg (formerly FollowEsports).

Edit: Cloud9 has also announced their intent to sign a Call of Duty roster to participate in the Call of Duty World League.

According to the announcement, TSM is also looking to sign a new Counter-Strike: Global Offensive roster. This comes just days after they announced the end of their contract with their Danish roster consisting of  Andreas ‘Xyp9x’ Højsleth, René ‘cajunb’ Borg, Finn ‘karrigan’ Andersen, Peter ‘dupreeh’ Rothmann, and Nicolai ‘device’ Reedtz. The roster has been quite successful but will be looking to join a new European organization while TSM plans to scout North American talent and base their team in Los Angeles.

It is not clear how TSM plans to go about signing a Call of Duty roster or if they are looking for one in a particular region. With the Call of Duty World League Qualifiers just taking place, many of the best teams are locked up with their current organizations. The Call of Duty World League is being run by Activision and ESL in North America, Europe, and Australia / New Zealand, with North America being home to the most talented players in the game. Online qualifiers for the league take place starting December 14th and 14 spots are available worldwide, meaning TSM needs to act fast if they plan on being represented this year.

It’s not easy to speculate which players might be picked up by TSM, but top talent that did not qualify for the World League can be found in both North America and Europe. Players announcing free agency include Jeremy ‘Study’ Astacio and Adam ‘Killa’ Sloss, who played under ‘Nation’ this past weekend with Mboze and Merk. Other players that did not play under an official organization at the qualifier include Tipsy, Anticity, Burnsoff, and Colechan. Though all of these players are experienced in the top tier of Call of Duty, they are far from guaranteed a spot in the World League due to the incredible amount of talent that will be competing against them. Those who do not make it will have to settle in the Challenger Division, though not much information on this has been released as of yet. Another possibility for organizations looking to enter the scene would be to buy out a league spot after qualifications have been completed. For Team SoloMid and Cloud9, this is not out of the question.
