Night has fallen over the battle royale map, but it’s also been invaded by some “anomalous entities,” also known as really scary monsters and creatures. The mission is to hunt them down and take them out.

Here are all of the anomalous entities in Warzone’s The Haunting: Operation Nightmare event and where to find them.

“Anomalous entities have been detected and marked on your Tac-Map,” the in-game description says. “Investigate locations and eliminate all hostile targets.”

There are six different hostile targets to find in Al Mazrah, including the Butcher, Swamp Creature, The Pharaoh, UFO, Ghost Train, and Evil Spirits. The game points you in the direction of where to find them.

Luckily, all of the icons for the bosses can be found on the tac map in Warzone, whether you play Al Mazrah or Vondel.

Keep in mind, that whether you play Resurgence, battle royale, or DMZ, other squads will also be attempting to take out the same enemy you are, so make sure to be ready for a fight. Luckily, the bosses respawn throughout the match, so if you missed them once, you can still fight them later.

The best way to find and fight these bosses is in DMZ mode. There will be way less human enemies to deal with in general in DMZ than in Warzone, so head here if you’re having difficulty with other players yoinking your kills.

How to kill The Butcher in Warzone

  • “Secure the area and activate the Altars of Lilith to open a Nightmare Portal to the Butcher.”
  • Locations marked: Zarqwa Hydroelectric, Al Mazrah City, Zaya Observatory, Al Samman Cemetery (Al Mazrah)

There are Altars of Lilith that players must activate to open a portal to fight The Butcher, and they’re found in one of several potential areas. Check your tac map in-game to see if they spawned in Zarqwa Hydroelectric, Al Mazrah City, Zaya Observatory, or Al Samman Cemetery.

The Altars can also be found in Vondead, The Haunting’s version of Vondel.

Activating an Altar will spawn zombies that you must defend the area from. When the Altars are all activated and the Nightmare Portal spawns, a giant red beam of light can be seen from across the map to show its location.

Enter the portal with lots of ammo and explosives and take the Butcher down, while taking on the boss and zombies that continue to spawn in.

How to kill the Swamp Creature in Warzone

  • “Search the swamp and open the egg pods to find the Tiara to summon and defeat Swamp Creature.”
  • Location marked: Mawizeh Marshlands (Al Mazrah)

You must open egg pods and find a special item to summon the boss fight in the Mawizeh Marshlands of Al Mazrah.

When you find the Tiara in one of the egg pods, a summoning circle will appear. It’s golden and makes a loud noise, so it’s easy to spot. Offer up the Tiara and the Swamp Creatures will spawn.

Kill them by trying to deal as much damage as you can before the hide in the water to finish the objective.

How to kill The Pharaoh in Warzone

  • “Secure the Skulls and place them in the Sarcophagus to awaken and defeat The Pharaoh.”
  • Location marked: Oasis (Al Mazrah)

The Pharaoh’s long slumber comes to an end at Oasis in Al Mazrah. Search the area for skulls and then place them in the Sarcophagus to begin the fight.

You’ll know you’re close enough when the Pharoah’s big, scary face pops up on your screen and tells you to bring him some skulls. So do that, post-haste.

I found the skulls within a digsite nearby. Drop down and collect them all, and bring them to the Sarcophagus marked on the map within the tomb to begin the boss fight.

The Pharaoh will spawn, and he can be shot immediately. Empty all your rounds into the tough guy, who’s basically a glorified zombie, and finish him off to complete the objective. He’s got a lot of health and armor, so bring the big guns.

How to find the UFO and deliver the artifact in Warzone

  • “Destroy the anomalies and the summoned UFO, then deliver the Artifact to the portal.”
  • Location marked: Sawah Village Coastline (Al Mazrah)

Extra-terrestrials, too? Yep. Anomalies at Sawah Village Coastline can be found and destroyed to begin this encounter. They look like mini blue flying saucers, and they shoot lasers at you, so be careful.

Once all mini saucers are destroyed, the mothership will come in. Use every rocket and bullet you have to try and take it down. When destroyed, it drops an orb-like artifact that you must take to a portal that will be marked on your map.

Unfortunately, some players on Reddit and other social medias have been reporting that only the player who returns the orb gets credit for completing the challenge. This may be a bug, so if it is then wait for a patch to try this challenge out, but I did not get credit for the challenge when a teammate brought the orb to the portal.

It may be best to try your luck solo in DMZ.

How to complete the Ghost Train and get the Heart in Warzone

  • “Raid the Ghost Train and capture the Heart from the safe.”
  • Location marked: Train Tracks (Al Mazrah)

Al Mazrah’s train tracks has an invader. The tracks can be found in the central area of Al Mazrah, and the Ghost Train is marked on your map with a special icon, and the Heart of the Train is found inside of it.

Board the flaming Ghost Train from its roof and enter it from above. There’s all kinds of loot chests in here, so keep looting everything until you find and capture the heart in the giant scary safe (you can’t miss it) to finish this encounter.

The innards of the train are also filled with traps like claymores, mines, tripwires, and sentry guns. You’ll need to work on taking those out before advancing forward, but the hardest part of this objective is dealing with other players. If you can, try it out in DMZ for less of a chance of dealing with enemies griefing you, and then escape with the Heart of the Train as your prize.

How to find the Evil Spirits in Warzone

Multiple tasks must be completed. Screenshot by Dot Esports
  • Find a Reaper by looting containers in Al-Safwa Quarry
  • Find a Ghoul by looting containers in Al Mazrah City
  • Find a Specter by looting containers in Al Bagra Fortress
  • Find a Witch by looting containers in Al Malik airport
  • Locations marked: Al-Safwa Quarry, Al Mazrah City, Al Bagra Fortress, Al Malik Airport (Al Mazrah)

You have to get a little lucky here. At four different locations, marked above, loot containers to try and find some spooky scaries. All four different kinds of scaries must be found to complete the encounter.

You’ll know you found one when “Found Special Item” pops up on your screen with some XP, along with the jump-scare you just got. I hope you don’t have a heart condition.

I found some in lockers, one in a chest, and another in a duffle bag, so search everything in these regions to finish up the challenge quickly. It shouldn’t be too difficult if you just spam loot containers.
