While Friday’s matches in the Call of Duty World League Global Pro League were filled with statement wins, Saturday was all about trying to become the first team to clinch a spot in the Stage Two Playoffs.
EUnited sat atop Group Yellow heading into the second day after defeating both Rise Nation and Splyce on Friday. With Splyce not on their schedule for Saturday, it looked like eUnited might head into Sunday with a 4-0 record.
Red Reserve, a team that was relegated from the CWL Global Pro League following Stage One, was first up to play eUnited on Saturday. Many fans considered Red to be the wildcard in Group Yellow, and they proved why on day two.

The Europeans were calm and decisive in their five games against eUnited. Red opened the series up with a shocking Scorch Hardpoint victory, but lost the initial Search and Destroy in round 11. They bounced back immediately though, taking a very defensive-minded Uplink on Throwback to make it 2-1. Despite blowing a great chance to close the series on Retaliation Hardpoint, Red was able to upset eUnited by taking Throwback Search and Destroy.
Stage One champions Splyce saw their fellow Europeans finding success on Saturday, and did the same in their following matchup against Rise Nation. Although Rise had been a dangerous team earlier in the year, Splyce’s respawn game was too much to handle for the Americans as they were taken out in four games.
Splyce continued their respawn success in their match against Red as well. The games were close for the most part, but Splyce managed to squeak out wins in each of the three respawn games to take the 3-1 series victory.
Not wanting to go back to their hotel rooms without a win on Saturday, eUnited focused up and swept Rise Nation to close out the day.
With the victory, eUnited put themselves back on top of Group Yellow with a 3-1 record. Splyce also finished the day at 3-1, but the head-to-head tiebreaker lies in eUnited’s favor at the moment.
Red Reserve sits in third, but they very well could finish within the top two after tomorrow. Blessed with not having Splyce on their schedule, Red faces eUnited and Rise, the two teams that they’ve defeated so far this weekend.
Rise unfortunately has already been eliminated from playoff contention due to their 0-4 record. Although they’re unable to crack the top two, Rise could play the spoiler and knock either Red or Splyce into third with Sunday upsets.
We’ll find out who will join Enigma6, FaZe Clan, Fnatic, and Luminosity Gaming in the Stage Two Playoffs as the games resume Sunday (July 16). The first match of the day is slotted to be Splyce taking on Rise Nation at 2pm ET.
