The college football season is roaring ever forward, and so, too, is College Football 25 with periodic updates. A new patch went live today, Sept. 19, and it’s full of good changes for the game.
Custom Audibles, an annoying glitch, bug fixes, optimizations, and the addition of a bunch of new defensive plays to existing playbooks are just on the surface of what’s new in the update that’s now live on all platforms for CFB 25.
Read on below for the CFB 25 patch notes for Sept. 19.
CFB 25 update patch notes – Sept. 19 Title Update
One of the bigger changes in the update today is that you can now save Custom Audibles across all modes, which is a nice addition. No matter what you’re playing, your Custom Audibles will follow you so you can get down that muscle memory to rip off your best yardage gainer anywhere.
“As you change audibles in your formation at play call, they will save automatically and will not change from game to game,” EA said. “You will be able to do this for up to 32 playbooks. To change audibles, press LT/L2 after choosing a formation in play call.”
The developer also said it has fixed the annoying kickoff glitch where players would cause the ball to not be caught by the receiving team, an obviously painful and disruptive bug. EA says it will “continue to monitor feedback on this fix and will make further changes if necessary.”
Fans of the Run and Shoot offensive playbook will be happy to know that EA has “partnered with a current Run and Shoot coach to improve authenticity in the run and shoot offense,” and that “this will include some minor adjustments to pre-existing plays and the inclusion of new plays in Run and Shoot Offensive playbook.”
On the College Ultimate Team side of things, EA says it’s fixed “some issues with a select group of players having inaccurate appearances in game,” but it is “continuing to work on this issue and have additional fixes planned for future Title Updates.”
The Nickel 3-3 Over and Nickel Over packages got several new plays in the update, too, including Edge Blitz 0, Edge Blitz 3, FS Will Blitz 0, Cover 3 Buzz Mable, and Cover 4 Field Drop. Other new additions include Nickel 3-3 Cub in 3-4 Multiple and 4-3 Multiple, Nickel 3-3 Mint in 3-3-5, and more.
Lastly, other than a slew of bug fixes, EA says it has added “various stadium authenticity updates to multiple schools,” and added “new uniform pieces” to a number of schools, which can be seen below:
