An organization best known for its League of Legends team is expanding into Counter-Strike.
Team Coast has signed the former affNity Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team, sources close to the organization tell the Daily Dot.
AffNity currently sits at eighth in the ESEA and ESL Counter-Strike: Global Offensive North American league. The team holds a 5-8-0 record after recently falling to Counter Logic Gaming and Luminosity.
The team had been searching for a new sponsor for several weeks before coming to a deal with Team Coast. With this pickup, affNity will rebrand under the Team Coast umbrella in the coming week. The lineup for the squad can be found on the ESEA team site.
Coast is best known for its team in another esport, League of Legends, competing in three North American League Championship Series splits. Both experiences in the LCS, however, ended in relegation—most recently on March 29 of this year.
Since leaving the LCS, the organization has looked to expand its brand into other esports, including Counter-Strike and Super Smash Bros. It’s currently also reforming its League of Legends team for the upcoming North American Challenger Series under the stewardship of new coach Brandon “SaintVicious” DiMarco.
