Swedish veteran Dennis Edman is temporarily moving to the Ninjas in Pyjamas bench after being on the active lineup for over a year.
NiP announced today that Dennis will be taking a break from CS:GO competition, citing energy fatigue as the primary reasoning for the move. AWPer William “draken” Sundin will be replacing him as the main AWP while Dennis undergoes medical examinations. Those tests will ensure that his medical condition doesn’t worsen, especially considering NiP’s hectic travel schedule in the next month.

This officially marks Draken’s return to NiP since he was benched last June. Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson took his place on the roster, and eventually the youngster also took on the mantle of in-game leader. Draken then had a brief stint with Fnatic shortly after, until Simon “twist” Eliasson joined the team, leaving the AWPer on a Swedish bench once again. He later found his way to Red Reserve for a short period of time.
After his time on Red Reserve ended in February, Draken set up an international team with several big-name European players like Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom, Kevin “HS” Tarn, Kevin “Ex6TenZ” Droolans, and Hampus Poser. But it looks like those plans fell through now that Draken is reuniting with his former teammates Patrik “f0rest” Lindberg, Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund, and Fredrik “REZ” Sterner.
The 23-year-old AWPer apologized to the quartet on Twitter, explaining that “this was an offer I couldn’t refuse.” ScreaM expressed his disappointment in the decision right after by tweeting that he’s “stuck in a maze,” alluding to his struggles in finding a stable team to compete with. The infamous one-tapper hasn’t found his footing with a team of five since he and his French teammates were released by Team Envy last June.
Draken can be seen in NiP colors in the team’s upcoming events at BLAST Pro Series Sao Paulo, StarSeries Season Seven, and IEM Sydney over the coming weeks. His time, however, could be cut short if Dennis’ physical condition improves faster than predicted or if the team performs poorly with Draken on the AWP.
