Olof “olofmeister” Kjajber left Fnatic to join FaZe Clan earlier today, and he will immediately be added to the team’s active roster. Olofmeister will replace the French support, Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey, who will be returning to the bench after 11 months of activity. Maikil “Golden” Selim of Fnatic Academy will be moving up to the main Fnatic roster to fill the in-game leader role, as a result of the change.

As one of Fnatic’s star players for over three years, olofmeister led Fnatic to two consecutive major wins at ESL One Katowice and ESL One Cologne in 2015. The Swedish powerhouse were arguably the most dominant team in CS:GO at the time, until SK Gaming claimed their throne in 2016.

The news comes a week after rumors began circulating regarding a split-up from Fnatic. Olofmeister and Dennis Edman were among the players supposedly leaving the two-time major-winning team, and it seems that half of those rumors are true. It’s still unclear if Dennis will stay or leave for another team.

The Swedish star explained on Twitter that he wanted to try something new to fix his lack of motivation with his move to FaZe. “I have not felt this sense of excitement and positive nervousness in a long time,” olofmeister said in FaZe’s roster announcement.

FaZe’s roster now consists of olofmeister, Håvard “rain” Nygaard, Finn “karrigan” Andersen, Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, and Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovács. GuardiaN joined the lineup of European stars earlier this month after replacing Aleksi “allu” Jalli.

Olofmeister’s first event with FaZe will be at DreamHack Malmo from Aug. 30 to Sept. 3, when the team will compete for $250,000 in Malmo, Sweden.
