Swedish organization GODSENT has closed its doors for good.
The organization announced on Twitter earlier today that it’s ceasing operations. It stated that all parties within the organization unanimously arrived at the decision as the “best solution,” despite its long history with Counter-Strike legends throughout the years. Recently, former team owner RFRSH Entertainment severed all ties with the organization in a situation that seems to have an undefined time period.

Last week, GODSENT’s CS:GO lineup moved on to Red Reserve, foreshadowing the end of its two-year history in the esport. Co-founder Markus “pronax” Wallsten also formed a team under the Digital Chaos banner in May, where he’s joined by Jacob “pyth” Mourujarvi, Mikail “Maikelele” Bill, and Mattias “bENNY” Rosback.
“We have left our small footprint inside the game for the history books, and we have contributed in shaping the current Swedish scene,” pronax and co-founder Tomas Oropesa Martin said in their announcement. “On the other hand, we feel that GODSENT will always be our baby, our passion, so it is sad knowing we have to let it go for now.”
When GODSENT made its Valve Major debut at ELEAGUE Atlanta in January 2017, it showcased some of Sweden’s best players, such as Jesper “JW” Wecksell, Robin “flusha” Ronnquist, Freddy “KRIMZ” Johansson, Andreas “znajder” Lindberg, and Jonas “Lekr0” Olofsson. Since this quintet went its separate ways, however, GODSENT became a stepping stone for Swedish talent rising through the ranks.
Additionally, GODSENT stickers have almost doubled in price on the Steam community market since it announced that it’ll be shutting down. Those stickers will likely continue to increase as time goes on now that they’ve become a rarity.
“We hope that one day our illuminati looking logo will once again take everyone by surprise, but until then all we can say is; farewell friends, much love,” the co-founders said.
