Former EnvyUs player Fabien “KioShima” Fiey has joined an all-U.K. lineup in hopes of qualifying for the ESL U.K. Premiership. The player will also be attending the Insomnia Gaming Festival later this month according to sources close to the team.
Fiey has teamed up with U.K. player and streamer Craig “onscreen” Shannon, Peter “pt” Wright, PUNCHRULLE, and a veteran of the U.K. scene, sam “RattlesnK” gawn. The team is simply called “lol” and, at the time of writing, has gone through to the quarterfinals.
At Insomnia, KioShima will play with a different lineup: just1n, jord, onscreen, and laney. The tournament features at £5,000 prize pool and will take place at the NEC Arena in Birmingham, U.K.
KioShima recently left the EnvyUs lineup after a poor showing at IEM Katowice, where the team bombed out in the group stage despite entering as one of the favorites. It’s unclear what his long-term plans are after leaving the team, and whether or not he intends to stick around the U.K. scene. Both these teams are likely temporary ventures for the French player.
