Alterations to Mirage were implemented in last night’s CS:GO update.
Mirage underwent a number of changes that should be good for the overall state of the map. Not only were visual improvements made, but there were also a few slight gameplay additions that could alter the map’s competitive meta.

The removal of skybox limitations has the potential to vastly change the way Mirage is played competitively. With enough time to prepare, teams can perform newer executes, including fake/double-fake executes, or set up defensive smokes from across the map. Previously, players were very limited with their fakes and executes because each lane of the map had a lower, more limited skybox blocking grenade trajectory.
Additionally, clipping issues in Middle and bugs around the map were fixed to alleviate smaller problems with bullet penetration and streamlined movement. This makes it easier for the Window player to get picks in Middle and for players peeking angles in tight corridors.
Below is a rundown of all of the changed visuals on Mirage, with the Valve patch note preceding the image.
Updated some landmark art
Lowered skillceiling to get into apartments from T spawn
Banked corner in hallway leading to A site scaffolding
Removed ladder near entrance to apartments from T spawn, replaced with boxes
Removed broken corner near van in bombsite B
Improved visibility from T side of mid towards A connector (removed dark background door inside connector)
Improved visibility from CT stairs towards T ramp in bombsite A (removed dark background door inside ramp)
Removed wooden pillars at bottom of mid
These changes have already received overwhelmingly positive feedback by the casual and professional community on Twitter and Reddit. With this in mind, Valve May continue to update Active Duty maps to further improve competitive play.
