Rifleman Andrew “Professor_Chaos” Heintz is leaving the eLevate Counter-Strike squad and won’t return to competitive play for the “foreseeable future,” the player announced in a tweet last night.
Heintz joined the team on June 1 after it parted ways with Derek “desi” Branchen. Heintz was coming off a break from the game after he left the North American Counter-Strike professional team Nihilum in favor of superstar Spencer “Hiko” Martin on April 31.
“We are sad to hear that Professor_Chaos [Heintz] is taking a break from professional Counter-Strike, but understand his decision,” eLevate Chief Executive Officer Brandon “MaDDoG” Hatfield told the Daily Dot. “We wish him the best of luck and hope to work with him in the future.”
Since Heintz joined eLevate, the team has had a 4-5 record in the ESL ESEA Pro League.
Update July 7, 3:27pm ET: Heintz’s former teammate, Damian “DAPS” Steel, gave this explanation for Heintz’s departure:
