Fnatic, undoubtedly the best team in the world coming into the tournament, will now be fighting for their lives tomorrow in the lower bracket group stage final against FaZe. Team Liquid, on the other hand, are the first North American side into the knockout stages.

The game ended at 22-19 in favor of the North American side. Ukranian Aleksandr “S1mple” Kostylev was the star for the team, finishing with 37 kills. Recently benched Eric “adreN” Hoag was also prolific on the AWP, while Jonathon “Elige” Jablonowski secured himself an ace during regulation time.

For Fnatic, Olof “Olofmeister” Kajbjer finished bottom of the scoreboards, something just about no one expected from the best player in the world. Only Freddy “Krimz” Johansson finished the game with a positive scoreline.

Fnatic will have to up their game tomorrow in their best-of-three against FaZe. If they progress to the knockout stages, they’ll have to perform far better than they did yesterday to live up to their high expectations: winning the entire competition.
