Twitter’s head of gaming partnerships has revealed the most talked-about gaming personalities in 2019 so far on the social media platform.
The pack is led by Felix “Pewdiepie” Kjellberg, Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson, and Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, who are followed by streamers Jack “CouRage” Dunlop, Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo, Rubén “Rubius” Doblas Gundersen, and 100 Thieves owner Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag.
The leaders are not too surprising. Pewdiepie has been in a months-long online rivalry with Indian Music Label & Movie Studio, T-Series for the highest subscriber count on YouTube. Although he’s essentially lost the battle, he still has one of the largest followings on the internet.
MrBeast has also had a surge in popularity over the past few months, especially after his collaboration alongside popular Twitch streamer, Michael “shroud” Gresziak. His videos usually have him giving away an immense amount of money to various small-time streamers and charities, which has garnered him a sizable following in 2019.
Finally, Ninja has always been one of the most watched gaming personalities since his explosion in popularity back at the start of 2018. From the multiple sponsorships to the incredible view counts on his Twitch channel, it would have been surprising to see him outside the top three. It will be interesting to see where some of the other names in the top 10 list will end up once we approach the end of the year.
