When choosing a partner in Dead by Daylight, Killers rarely get to team up against Survivors. For the 2v8 mode, friendly Killers can work side-by-side to take on a horde of eight Survivors, and finding the best combination can be tricky.
It all comes down to teamwork and knowing how each Killer’s unique abilities work. Synergy is important, especially if you’re trying to prevent a full team of Survivors from reaching the end. There are some important aspects to consider when you and your friend select your ideal Killer combo, and we can help narrow down the choices for you in Dead by Daylight.
Best Killer combinations for 2v8 mode
In Dead by Daylight‘s 2v8 mode, the Killers work slightly differently. You don’t have Perks to choose from. Instead, you get Killer skills, which appear exclusively in this game mode. You cannot swap them out for other choices; you can only pick the Killers and the add-ons you want to use to enhance your powers. You’ll want to communicate with your teammate to get the most out of your choices and figure out how to work together to catch all eight Survivors.
These are the best Killer combinations you can use in Dead by Daylight‘s 2v8 mode.
Nurse and Wraith
The Wraith and Nurse Killer team-up is a deadly combination in Dead by Daylight. The Wraith has a distinct edge in using camouflage to its advantage, tracking down any Survivors who could be hiding and getting the drop on them before realizing it’s there. If the Nurse is next to the Wraith, the Nurse can become Undetectable, making it much more difficult for Survivors to anticipate the upcoming attack from a blinking Nurse. The Wraith will want to take charge of where to go on the map, but the Nurse should make the first attack to scatter the unsuspecting Survivors.
While remaining close to each other, the Nurse’s blink ability has a distinct upgrade, allowing them to blink more often and at a higher frequency. For those who have mastered the Nurse’s blink, this is your time to shine and knock down Survivors left and right while remaining close to your Wraith partner.
Wraith and Hillbilly
The next combination we have is Wraith and Hillbilly. It’s hard not to recommend the Wraith for nearly every Killer in the Dead by Daylight 2v8 mode, but Hillbilly is one of his best partners next to the Nurse. The Hillbilly is loud, manic, and capable of charging across the map to knock down Survivors with a hefty chainsaw attack. The Wraith can keep up, uncloaking itself to deal with any Survivors that escaped the Hillbilly’s onslaught, and the Undetectable buff from the Wraith makes the Hillbilly even tougher to spot.
What makes the Hillbilly exceptionally tough to deal with alongside the Wraith is the Exposed effect it deals during its chainsaw sprint. If Survivors are within 10 meters of the Hillbilly while it’s sprinting, they’re exposed, making it much easier for the Wraith to clean up anyone who escaped.
Trapper and Huntress
The final combination features the Trapper and the Huntress. This deadly team-up of Killers in Dead by Daylight will force Survivors to keep their eyes on the ground and in front of them. The Trapper’s primary ability, Traps, forces players to watch their step, or they’ll stick their foot in a trap, revealing themselves to both Killers. They have precious time to dislodge from the trap before one of the Killers is on them, making it difficult to focus on generators.
What’s worse is that if the Survivors are concerned about looking down at their feet, it is more difficult for them to watch a Huntress over their shoulder during a chase. Survivors typically want to keep an eye on a chasing Huntress to avoid her incoming axes, but they might be too concerned by the Trapper’s bear traps to see the axe coming in, or they might step into a bear trap and find themselves knocked out of the game. The Huntress’ axe throws also expose any Survivors they hit, making it difficult for Survivors to escape. The Trapper and Huntress can work exceptionally well together, but communication is essential for this duo.
