It's a wonderful time in Destiny 2.

The spirit of the holidays is coming back to Destiny 2 with the game’s annual Dawning event, bringing some old recipes, new gear, and some tricks up Eva Levant’s sleeves. The Tower’s resident space grandma is inviting players to bake cookies and complete recipes, and who can say no to a once-a-year favor?

For the 2022 edition of the event, players can expect the new event card system, including a slew of event challenges and an event-based title. Bungie is also adding a new pulse rifle to the mix. If previous events are an indication, though, players can expect to see old Dawning favorites returning with a new perk pool and an origin trait.

Players can also find new recipes, meaning they are bound to find new NPCs to bake goods for. The availability changes each event based on the storylines that year. For instance, fans likely can’t bake cookies for Mara Sov, but Xûr himself (in his lair in Eternity) could still be a candidate for receiving some crunchy holiday cheer.

Here are the Dawning’s start and end dates in 2022 so you know when to start celebrating and when to turn in your cookies.

When does the Dawning 2022 start and end in Destiny 2?

The Dawning Event 2022 will kick off on Dec. 13 and come to an end on Jan. 2, 2023, according to a press kit, meaning Eva Levante will be packing up her Holiday Oven at the beginning of the new year. Be sure to spend your cookies before the reset on Jan. 2 or risk missing out on some special goodies.

The same Jan. 2 deadline applies to players who want to conquer the new Dawning title or just give some cookies to their favorite NPCs. Dawning weapons—which will likely be collected from Dawning Packages, like in other editions of the event—can also be obtained until that date, so be sure to chase any rolls you need.
