The yearly Guardian Games event has returned in Destiny 2 for 2024, bringing with it new loot and quests for players to finish.
The main draw in this year’s Guardian Games is much bigger than its usual offerings. For 2024, Guardian Games introduces a completely new vehicle type to Destiny 2, the Skimmer. With the event’s Allstar Vector, players will be able to get airtime, grind rails, and perform tricks in a far more stylish mode of transportation than their usual Sparrows.
Here’s how to complete the Best in Class quest, which will allow you to access the Drop In quest and start working towards a permanent Skimmer to add to your garage.
Best in Class quest guide in Destiny 2 Guardian Games 2024
Step one
You need to pick up the quest from Eva Levante, located in the Tower’s Courtyard. After she hands you the event Class Item, make sure to equip it immediately to start earning Guardian Games Medallions from activities.
Once you’re greeted with Eva’s full vendor screen, pick up one of the available Contender Cards. These provide Medallion rewards across a variety of activities from Vanguard Strikes to Lost Sectors, so pick the one based around an activity you play the most.
Step two
For step two, complete either a Guardian Games playlist activity or a Supremacy match in the Crucible with your event Class Item equipped. This introduces you to the system of earning Medallions, as completing any of these activities will reward you Bronze or Silver Medallions.
You can select a Guardian Games activity to launch from the Tower map, with all four nodes available above the Courtyard.
Step three
Once you’ve earned a Medallion, return to Eva Levante in the Courtyard and speak with her. She’ll give you the Medallion Case, a handy way to keep track of the Medallions you’re currently carrying.
Step four
Next, deposit the Medallions you’ve earned so far at the Guardian Games podium in the Tower Courtyard.
Each class has its own dedicated deposit station, located underneath their respective flags. If you have multiple of different Medallion types, you’ll need to click the deposit button multiple times to bank them all.
Step five
Depositing the Medallions will net you your first completed event challenge, and the next step in Best in Class is to claim the event challenge and its rewards. These can be found in your Quest tab.
The Guardian Games quests are a featured section at the top of the Quest tab. Click on it, and you’ll see 16 available challenges to complete. Select the first one to claim it.
Step six
The next few steps have you visit the various vendors in the Tower, and the first on the list is Commander Zavala. Visit Zavala in the Tower for lines of dialogue about the Guardian Games, and he’ll also give you the Shoot to Score quest for this year’s version of the games.
Step seven
Next, speak with Shaxx in the Tower. Like with Zavala, he’ll give you both brief dialogue about the event, as well as the Vying For Supremacy quest.
Step eight
Finally, return to Eva Levante in the Tower one more time. After talking with her, you’ll have completed the Best in Class quest and earned a limited-time event version of the Allstar Vector Skimmer.
If you want to keep the Allstar Vector permanently, though, you’ll need to complete the Drop In quest. This is also available from Eva Levante, and she’ll hand you it upon completion of Best in Class.
