How to get Silver Leaves in Destiny 2’s Solstice

You'll need a lot of them if you're aiming to farm high-stat armor.

Destiny 2’s Solstice 2024 changed most of the Solstice formula, giving Silver Leaves a new role and getting away from Silver Ash altogether. This year, Silver Leaves are the main resource needed to progress the event’s quests. And you don’t even need to wear Solstice armor to earn them.

The new Solstice Forge works as a portable event vendor, providing multiple armor-related bounties that drop armor alloy for each of the five slots. The Forge stays in your quest log, just like the Medal Case in the Guardian Games.

Here’s how you can get Silver Leaves in Destiny 2 and the best ways to use them to your advantage.

Silver Leaves drop from completing nearly any activity while you have the Solstice Forge in your quest log. This is much less restrictive than previous years, which required you to have at least one piece of Solstice armor equipped. Acquisition values are somewhat different in 2024, though. Legend-difficulty Lost Sectors only gave us one meager Leaf, and we came out empty-handed on their regular versions.

Some of the best farming locations for Silver Leaves remain the same as previous iterations of the event, but in our experience, Bonfire Bash has been dropping quite a lot of Solstice Gear. This is a good way to acquire the Fortunate Star bow and snag some Silver Leaves while you’re at it. Obtaining an armor piece will include it in the loot pool for Bonfire Bash.

What do Silver Leaves do in Destiny 2?

With the overhauled system this year, Silver Leaves are used to acquire or reroll Solstice Forge bounties. The cost of each objective ranges from one to five Leaves, and rerolling a slot takes five Silver Leaves off your bag. Completing any objective in that slot gives you three new bounties.

These bounties will give you Alloy, a newly introduced resource that serves as a progress bar until you can unlock and improve your armor. Harder bounties cost more Silver Leaves, but grant more Alloy.

Since it costs five Silver Leaves to reroll a slot, we recommend grabbing a cheap bounty and rushing through it instead of paying for a reroll. This will save you up to four Silver Leaves per slot, which adds up quickly. Popular farming spots include the Shuro Chi checkpoint in the Last Wish raid, the entrance to the Grasp of Avarice dungeon, the Breakneck campaign mission in Lightfall, and Altars of Sorrow on the Moon.

What happened to Silver Ash in Destiny 2?

Previous versions of Solstice had Silver Ash as a parallel currency that would tie into the event loop. Until this year, players would earn Silver Leaves from any activity, then complete a Bonfire Bash to convert them into Silver Ash, with better performance leading to bigger results. Ash, then, was required to unlock the glows. This year, though, Silver Ash is out of the equation.
