Living Steel is an important new item in Diablo 4 introduced in Season of Blood. Though many players know that Living Steel is used to summon the end game boss Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint, finding Tortured Gift of Living Steel chests can be tricky.
Diablo 4 is all about progression and loot. By getting enough Living Steel to summon Grigoire, you not only get this bosses’ loot, but also Shards of Agony, which are in turn used to spawn the Echo of Duriel boss. Before you can do any of that however, you need to delve into the Helltide to find your Tortured Gift of Living Steel Chests.
Where to find Tortured Gift of Living Steel Chests in Diablo 4
Tortured Gift of Living Steel Chests in Diablo 4 are found in Helltide events that randomly spawn throughout the map. In order to open these Helltide-exclusive chests in Diablo 4, you need to gather Aberrant Cinders by slaying demons and other enemies in the Helltide event.
Once you have amassed 300 Cinders, you can open a Tortured Gift of Living Steel Chest for a chance to claim Living Steel.
It can be difficult to pin down exactly where you can find Living Steel Chests once in a Helltide. Like other Helltide chests, it will only appear on your map whenever you are close. Due to this, I recommend that you check out the D4Armory website. Here you can use the filter tool to determine where Living Steel Chests have been spotted and quickly go in and out of the Helltide without wasting too much time.
You should be able to gather multiple Living Steel in the spawn of one Helltide. You need two Living Steel to spawn Grigoire in World Tier Three, but five to spawn the boss in World Tier Four. Though it takes more effort, I recommend waiting until World Tier Four to spawn Grigoire, as then you can claim your Shards of Agony to eventually also spawn Duriel.
