A new season in Diablo 4 means we’re back to square one, so leveling is crucial. To make things easier for you, we’ve put together the best leveling guide.
Returning to early levels and lower World Tiers can be frustrating when a new season starts in Diablo 4, but it doesn’t need to be a tiresome grind. By choosing the right content and approach, you fly through the levels. We’ve broken down everything you need to know and the steps to take to push through the early slog.
Best leveling guide for Diablo 4 season five
The approach to surging through levels as quickly as possible depends on your current level. Below, we’ve outlined what you should focus on and in what order.
Level 1 to 35
When starting Diablo 4 season five, the most important factor is ensuring you are on World Tier 2. This is slightly harder than World Tier 1 but provides additional XP and better drops, so it’s worth switching it up.
Start the season questline by completing the Of Lamb and Wolves quest and focus on unlocking the season journey rewards for chapter one. Then, gather Bundled Herbs to craft Precision Elixers with the Alchemist.
Attention then shifts to Helltides until you reach level 35. If you’re lower level, they may be difficult to participate in. If you are struggling, focus on completing events around the map until you feel more comfortable.
Once you hit level 35, the next step is to complete the Capstone Dungeon and unlock access to World Tier 3.
Level 35 to 55
With World Tier 3 unlocked, continue the seasonal questline and complete the Eyes of the Enemy quest. This unlocks the first Infernal Horde, a new addition in season five and another great source of experience.
There are two options to grind through, which you can switch between to keep things fresh. The first option is to run Nightmare Dungeons until you reach level 55, but alternatively, you can stick with Helltides instead.
The best approach is to continue with Helltides and switch to Nightmare Dungeons during the five-minute cooldown between Helltides.
Once you hit level 55, it’s time for another Capstone Dungeon. To make things easier, I recommend stacking Fire Resistance and tempering your gear at a Blacksmith. Completing the Capstone Dungeon unlocks World Tier 4.
Level 55 to 100
In World Tier 4, focus on Helltides until you reach level 70. From there, running Nightmare Dungeons or completing Whispers in PvP Areas is another personal choice. Nightmare Dungeons are your best bet if you’d rather not battle other players.
If you focus on Nightmare Dungeons, boost the level of Monsters to the maximum you are comfortable with to maximize the experience gained.
After completing a Tier 46 Nightmare Dungeon, access to The Pit is unlocked. If you’re a solo player, head there for the best farming approach, but if you’re in a group, continue with Nightmare Dungeons.
