The countdown below tells you exactly how many days, hours, minutes, and seconds you have to wait until Season of the Malignant releases. Just remember, you need to have completed the Diablo 4 campaign before you can partake in the season’s questline. There’s still some time to try and power through.
What to expect in Diablo 4 Season of the Malignant
First up, you will need to create a new character on a seasonal realm. It’s a shame to have to learn your Eternal Realm character behind right now, but that is just how things work in Diablo seasons. Also, make sure that you are finished the campaign to be able to dive into the new season.
Malignant Hearts
A central part of the new season will be the introduction of 32 Malignant Hearts which provide alterations to your builds. They affect offensive power, defensive power, utility power, and a category called Super that seems to juice up your ultimate abilities. These will be placed in corresponding Malignant Sockets that will replace standard sockets in jewelry for the course of the season.
The Malignant Tunnels
The Malignant Tunnels is a new area that is filled with all kinds of ugly monsters. The good news? They are prone to dropping sweet loot, including those Malignant Hearts you seek. There are six of these dungeons in total, and once you finish killing the monsters within, you’ll be able to get your hands on some sweet rewards from Outgrowths. These Outgrowths will give you the option of a Wrathful and a Random Heart, depending on the dungeon.
Varshan the Consumed
Varshan the Consumed is the being behind all this malignancy, and you’ll need to put him down. This new boss will not be easy as he seeks to eradicate anything that comes after him. Make sure you get nice and strong, and then use his own power against him.
