If you’re a Druid player looking for the Shockwave Aspect in Diablo 4, you should probably grab your best lucky charm. That’s because it’s incredibly hard to find. Unlike other Legendary Aspects that can be received as rewards for completing certain dungeons, the Shockwave Aspect can only be found on an existing item that drops, which is completely chance based. In other words, you’ll need all the luck you can get.
It took me an eternity to find mine, but I learned some things along the way that can help you increase the odds of finding one and hopefully make the process less tedious and more fun. Here’s everything you need to know.
How to get the Shockwave Aspect in Diablo 4, explained
If you want to find the Shockwave Aspect as quickly as possible, I’d recommend killing as many elites and clearing out as many dungeons as you can. The rarer the enemies, the likelier they are to drop an item with the Shockwave Aspect already on it. For that reason, if you’re able to increase the World Tier difficulty and farm Nightmare Dungeons, I strongly suggest doing that. It will make things a lot faster.

Alternatively, if you have Murmuring Obols and know a few critical details about the Shockwave Aspect, you can try your hand at the Purveyor of Curiosities. That, of course, will depend on luck as well, but I’d recommend doing it if you’re looking to break up the monotony of slogging through dungeons.
How to farm the Shockwave Aspect via the Purveyor of Curiosities
You can purchase several types of gear from the Purveyor of Curiosities vendor in each of the major towns. The icon for this vendor will appear on your map as a money bag with the dollar sign on the front.
Each piece of gear at the vendor costs a certain amount of Murmuring Obols. You will probably have a few of them already if you’ve done some World Events and Area Events. You will receive a piece of gear suited to your class with each purchase, but the stats and rarity of the equipment you get will vary each time. The same can be said about Aspects, which will also be different with every Legendary drop.
By knowing which gear the Shockwave Aspect can be found on, you can maximize your chances of obtaining this Aspect without overspending your Murmuring Obols. The Shockwave Aspect is an offensive Aspect, so it will most likely be found on Amulets, Gloves Rings, and Weapons. Gloves are the cheapest at around 40 Murmuring Obols. Weapons are a little steeper at 50 and Amulets and Rings are the most expensive at 60. I highly recommend purchasing Gloves because they’re the best bang for the buck.
I must warn you, though. While this method is less tedious than grinding, it will cost you. It took me around 75 attempts to find one. The item I bought each time cost me 40 Murmuring Obols apiece, so I spent around 3,000 Murmuring Obols in total. If you’re lucky, you might find it faster. I hope that’s the case.
If the item with the Shockwave Aspect isn’t one you can use or want to keep using, there is a way to extract it and affix it to another one—as long as you don’t mind spending gold and destroying your item.
How to extract the Shockwave Aspect from an item
To extract the Shockwave Aspect from an item, head to an Occultist whose icon resembles three circles and a triangle.
Once there, talk to the Occultist and navigate to the “Extract Aspect” tab. Then, follow these easy steps:
- Select the Legendary item to be destroyed box and place your Legendary item with Shockwave Aspect there.
- By doing so, a preview of Shockwave Aspect will appear in the box.
- If you’re ready to destroy your Legendary item to extract the Shockwave Aspect, select “Extract Abstract.”
And that’s it. Your Legendary item will be destroyed, but you’ll now have an extracted Shockwave Aspect you can add it to another item.
How to imprint or apply an extracted Shockwave Aspect to another item
Once you have extracted the Shockwave Aspect, add it to a Legendary Glove, Amulet, Ring, or Weapon. Adding it to an item with excellent stats is a good idea. If you do go this route, it’s important to note the Legendary Aspect on your item will be replaced. Think carefully before you imprint your extracted Shockwave Aspect onto another item.
If you have a great piece of gear that you want the Shockwave Aspect on, follow these steps:
- Talk to the Occultist and ensure you’re on the “Imprint Aspect” tab.
- Select your Legendary gear from your inventory to which you’d like to imprint the Shockwave Aspect.
- Then select the Shockwave Aspect from your inventory.
- Ensure that your Legendary item will be what you’re after in the preview section.
- And make sure you have enough gold and Veiled Crystal, an essential material for upgrades and imprinting. If you need more, you sometimes get them from quest caches or salvaging rare items.
- Select Imprint Aspect. And your item will now have the Shockwave Aspect.
Unfortunately, getting the Shockwave Aspect—an excellent Aspect for Druids—is a gamble. If you do find it, extract it and keep it because you never know when you may need it. It’s made a world of difference for me.
