After an extremely poor start to the Pro Circuit season, Fnatic’s Dota 2 squad is making changes to its personnel.
Yesterday, mid laner Steve “Xcalibur” Ye would be relegated to the substitute position. He will be replaced by Filipino prodigy Abed “Abed” Yusop in the active roster.
Abed comes into the team after leaving Digital Chaos. Abed competed at The International 7 with DC, as well as other premier tournaments such as The Summit 7 and the ZOTAC Cup Masters.
Adam Shah, formerly known as “343”, will also be making his return to the Fnatic organization as the new coach. He will be replacing Ahmad “ADTR” Syazwan in this role.
The changes are unsurprising, given the less than desirable results posted by the team since the beginning of the new competitive year. The new roster, formed just two months ago, has missed several opportunities to qualify for Pro Circuit events.
In the very few tournaments where they have had chances to play, their performances have been anything but inspiring. For a team with strong players such as Johan “pieliedie” Åström and Djardel Jicko “DJ” Mampusti, their results have been well below expectations so far.
Fnatic is currently playing in the Summit 8 SEA regional qualifier, hoping to get their season back on track.
