New players are headed towards North American Dota 2 team Digital Chaos—but not without some drama along the way.
Canadian pro Dota 2 player David “MoonMeander” Tan explained on his stream earlier today that Jimmy “DeMoN” Ho and Max “qojqva” Bröcker will be replacing him and Abed “Abed” Yusop. MoonMeander himself was removed from the squad a few weeks ago.
MoonMeander returned to Digital Chaos last September as the team’s captain and hard support player, after several months of absence from the organization thanks to his time on the now-defunct Planet Odd. He then parted ways with DC just three weeks after rejoining.
In his statements about the events surrounding his removal, he mentions that DeMoN was supposed to join DC as a pair with Canadian pub star Bryle. At the time, however, MoonMeander was still a member of DC, which he claims prompted DC to drop him in order to make room for DeMoN and Bryle.
He goes on to say that Bryle ended up not following through with this plan, leaving the team just one week after he had joined with DeMoN. This decision was supposedly due to Bryle’s focus on his studies as a high school student.
Instead, qojqva is apparently being brought on to replace Bryle after his abrupt departure, and subsequently Abed as well who is allegedly also making his exit from the squad. Qojqva was last seen playing for European team Tuho, with his time as a member of Escape Gaming and Ninjas in Pyjamas being the most notable in recent years.
Abed’s own departure has not yet been announced. But if MoonMeander is correct, then we should see some news from the side of DC soon, or at the very least a tweet from the Filipino player confirming this. As for MoonMeander, he has yet to find a new team.
