We’re mere hours away from 2018, but one Dota 2 squad will have to deal with a change to their roster before the calendar turns over. Lee “Forev” Sang-don, offlaner for all-Korean team Immortals, announced yesterday that he will no longer be playing for the Los Angeles-based organization.

The news is hardly surprising, considering that their results in the Pro Circuit so far haven’t been anything to write home about. In fact, their last significant result came in the form of a top four finish at the PGL Open in Bucharest, which took place two months ago.

Just two weeks later, they followed the PGL Open up with a last-place exit from the AMD SAPPHIRE DotaPit League, and total losses in several regional qualifiers thereafter.

In other events, their performances have been lackluster overall and they sometimes even lose to tier two and three teams that they tower over on paper. Clearly something needed to be done to fix their mediocre results—and this roster change might just be the trick.

This leaves Immortals with one vacant slot in their roster, and they don’t have any official substitutes registered in the Pro Circuit. Saahil “UNiVeRsE” Arora, who left Evil Geniuses just two weeks ago, happens to still be a free agent at this time. He could be next in line to play with the Koreans.
