We’re just one week away from the release of the Khaos Reigns expansion for Mortal Kombat 1, which brings a new cinematic story mode alongside a second Kombat Pack that features Ghostface from the Scream franchise. And the expansion’s launch trailer included a particularly exciting new fatility.

Much like the reveal trailer a few months prior, this launch trailer only offered small glimpses into not only Ghostface, but also guest characters Conan the Barbarian and the T-1000 from Terminator 2. But the trailer did end with a preview of one of Ghostface’s fatalities. It starts off with the killer stabbing their victim in the stomach, causing them to stumble backwards. Unfortunately for them, they bump into a second Ghostface killer and the two team up to cut their victim to shreds, laughing maniacally at their demise. Since the Scream franchise is famous for having more than one person be the titular killer in each installment, this is spot-on representation for the series.

Even with just this tiny glimpse of Ghostface, Mortal Kombat fans are getting hyped all over X/Twitter for this fatality. From the references to the classic Scream films to speculation over who exactly is under the masks, the Mortal Kombat community can’t wait to get their hands on the famous masked killer and find out what the rest of his playstyle is going to be, along with what his second fatality and numerous other brutalities and animalities the character might have.

Unfortunately, the trailer once again left out a potential release date for Ghostface and the rest of the guest characters, only stating their releases are to be announced while the three Mortal Kombat characters (Sektor, Cyrax, and Noob Saibot) are available on launch day on Sept. 24. But judging by how well received this one fatality was, it’s clear the Scream franchise is in good hands with the Mortal Kombat developers, and that Conan and the T-1000 are going to be just as good.
